In-house ordering – The QR code ordering system as a sales booster
Every table in your restaurant has a unique QR code. When a guest scans the QR code, they reach the digital menu. After choosing a dish or drink, they can order directly via their smartphone and even pay optionally, including a tip.
The POS system records the order. A receipt is printed, and the server brings the order to the correct table. We work closely with various POS systems, so your system is likely supported.
When is in-house ordering needed?
While some restaurants now process 100% of orders via smartphone without a server coming to the table, the reality is usually different: Normally, the server greets the guest and takes the first order directly. At this point, the server explains the optional ordering system: "If I'm not available, you can order here at any time." Throughout the evening, guests can order either from the server or via smartphone. Smartphone ordering remains optional for guests.
Benefits of in-house ordering:
The main benefit is the time saved for your staff. When guests order and pay themselves, it saves time on order taking and the payment process.
Additional orders are another benefit. Since guests can order at any time and no longer depend on the server's attention, they simply order more.
Guest satisfaction increases because you offer an additional service. You systematically avoid situations where guests might have a bad experience. Normally, guests order from the service staff. However, if wait times get too long, the guest has the option to order themselves.
In-house ordering with pickup function:
The in-house ordering system also works for restaurants with self-pickup concepts. The goal is to shorten the queue at the counter.
Guests order and pay via QR code with their own smartphone and receive a pickup number. Once the order is ready, the number is called out or the guest receives an automatic pickup notification on their smartphone via SMS or push notification.
