SO’USE acquires leading self-checkout provider Dango to further strengthen its market position
Gastro-tech company SO’USE acquires self-checkout provider Dango. Dango offers restaurateurs and guests QR-code-based payment solutions that integrate seamlessly with the most common POS systems. Guests scan a QR code at the table after their meal. This allows them to split the bill, add a tip, and pay digitally immediately – effectively avoiding long wait times.
With the acquisition, SO’USE further expands its market position as Germany's leading provider of digital ordering and payment solutions in the hospitality industry. Following the acquisition of igetnow in April 2022, this transaction is the second strategic acquisition announced by the company.
"Adding a self-checkout solution to our product range was a logical step for us. We evaluated several companies in the segment over the past few months and chose Dango as the strongest provider from our perspective," says Ben Wollscheid, founder and CEO of SO’USE.
"Omar and his team have created a great product in a short time that has convinced both renowned independent restaurateurs and larger chains; above all HANS IM GLÜCK, who already successfully use Dango in more than 40 locations," Wollscheid continues.
"We focused on digital self-service solutions early on. In the self-checkout segment, we evaluated and tested various providers. Dango stood out clearly due to its advanced technology and exceptional customer service."

While the digitalization of the off-premise business in the hospitality industry has received much attention in recent years, demand for digital solutions is increasingly shifting to the dine-in sector. In particular, the need for self-service solutions is growing steadily, not least due to the ongoing staff shortages across the industry.
"In the dine-in sector, requirements are extremely diverse depending on the restaurant concept. Even within a single business, there are different use cases that vary depending on the area, season, and staffing situation. Therefore, the market needs a provider that focuses on the dine-in segment, can adapt its solution to different concepts, and provides everything from a single source. That is exactly the strength of SO’USE," explains Omar Allaoui, founder and CEO of Dango.
SO’USE was founded in 2018 and is the leading provider of self-ordering solutions in the DACH region with more than 1,200 customers, including several well-known restaurant chains.
